In recent times, an entire generation has discovered the concept of ageism, where the essence lies in the greater societal value attributed to the young, primarily due to the absence of physical flaws and wrinkles, resulting in firm bodies and radiant skin. The concept and the associated discourse fundamentally struggle to advance thoughts that may be contrary to generational differences, but if we strip the term of its "kulturkampf" connotations, a sensible and useful debate on the assessment of age-related signs may emerge. It is possible and necessary to discuss aging, as it happens to everyone, but with respect, without objectification, and while respecting the dignity of older people.

In addition to all this, Pamela Anderson proudly stands against perceived or real ageism, breaking unwritten rules, such as the exclusive modeling and employment of young people as models. Moreover, it is not uncommon for actresses, models, and celebrities to step in front of the camera at the age of 56. What makes Davit Giorgadze's photos unique is that Pamela doesn't use any makeup, perhaps due to her animal rights activist activities. These photos are astonishingly different from those on social media, where any photoshoot depicts retouched, made-up, and styled girls, but not here. Proenza Schouler took a risk with the campaign, even with filtered, made-up, and photoshopped social media appearances, but the campaign seems to have worked, as Pamela's face is everywhere on every platform, providing a refreshing and vibrant touch to the often exhaustive and mass-produced model images in the fashion industry.
